22-year-old Nigerian man stabbed to death in London

A 22-year-old Nigerian man died in the UK after he was stabbed in the leg during a scuffle that neighbours described as “a huge fight”.

After being knifed, Bright Akinlele staggered into the Wesley Hotel in Euston Street,  collapsed and died in the hotel lobby.

According to reports, Akinlele was attacked at an address in Starcross Street before he managed to walk a few hundred yards to the four-star £100-a-night hotel.

He collapsed in a pool of blood in the lobby. Hotel staff and paramedics fought to save his life but Mr Akinlele died at the scene 45 minutes later.

Police said on Thursday that his family have been informed.

Four men and seven women aged between 19 and 28 were arrested on suspicion of murder at a nearby property in Camden that night.

Neighbours claimed there had been a ‘commotion of up to 15 teenagers’ near the hotel that night.

The chairman of The Wesley Hotel – where the injured man staggered into and begged for help – confirmed he was brutally attacked in a neighbouring street.

All eleven have been released on bail to return on a date in mid-March.
