Super Eagles manage,r Gernot Rohr, has caught the eye with his simplicity and unobtrusive style, and ahead of this weekend’s blockbuster World Cup qualification clash between Nigeria and Algeria in Uyo, the German tactician has a simple wish: he wants three points.
The Eagles need a win against visiting Algeria’s Fennec Foxes to consolidate their hold on the dreaded group B following their success on matchday 1 away at Zambia, and Rohr is expecting no less from the lads.
“It is very important that we make the three points against Africa’s top team Algeria,”said the coach who is yet to taste defeat since taking over in August.
Despite a number of players battling niggling injuries, Rohr insists the team will be fully fit when they take on the Algerians at the Nest of Champions on Saturday, Vanguard writes.
“We have three little injuries, we are careful (about managing them),” he said.
“Balogun has a knock on the knee, Ideye and Shehu have problems around the ankle. I hope they will be fit to train with the rest of the team.”
The squad departs Abuja for Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Wednesday as they look to acclimatise ahead of the eagerly anticipated tie.
