From L-R: the director saheed apanpa, the producer/writer/actor Airebamen Irene and Femi Adebayo

Airebamen Irene’s Jumbled is now in Cinema’s, after a media screening held at the ozone cinemas on the 9th of April. The movie tells the story about a young girl (Lillian Esoro) in her early thirties who keeps having her heart broken until she finally meets the perfect man (Kenneth Okolie), who turns out to be the worst of all.

The movie which stars acts like Eucharia Anunobi, Wole Ojo, Beverly Naya, Femi Adebayo, Emem Ufot and a host of others, is a suspense-packed movie that takes you on a very intriguing and emotional Journey. First time producer, Airebamen Irene who is well known as Bami Gregs in the industry talks about her experience and transition from the TV productions to movie productions,

“Moving from TV to the big movie screen was God’s grace because I actually wanted to do a TV production but the people around me encouraged me to go bigger instead of smaller. I was scared but I had a lot of help and encouragement from people like Mike Ezuronye, Emeka Madu, Femi Adebayo and so many others, even the cast was stress-free.

Also speaking about the movie she also talked about the name change and the reasons behind it,

“The movie was formerly named entangled but we later changed it to jumbled early this year because we found out a 2018 movie had the same title. So when you see a movie poster with the same storyline and actors titled entangled, do not be confused.”

Airebamen Irene who is also the writer of the must watch movie that addresses social life, friendship and parenting, credits the inspiration of the movie to a personal experience although the script was tweaked so many times to make it more exciting and give it a better moral ending. The cast was also very intentional, as every single cast in the movie was specially selected for that particular role.

“It took me over two years to write the story, because I wanted something different, because I did not want the regular Nigerian home movie, something filled with suspense, that people will be eager to know what will happen next, so I kept going back to add, subtract and give someone else to read it to see if it all made sense. Also the cast was very intentional because I took my time to pick out actors including myself that could thoroughly interpret each role.

The director of the movie Saheed Apanpa said the movie which is a Reflection of a true life story causes viewers to return true finesse and adequate values.

According to him there are no two ways of regaining true happiness in marriage as the star actor Kenneth Okolie who played Dami, jumbled his life in marriage while seeking an easy part to happiness. He also noted that in life one must also know how to separate the sinner from the sin and move on through forgiveness as demonstrated by star actress Lillian Esoro who played Adaeze in the new movie

“I and the writer we actually have synergy, so we built the story together. Looking at the end of the story, it is not your regular ending, we just wanted to pass a message to let you know that being selfish is not a problem itself but you are the problem. You might be hurting inside but don’t let it affect others around you. It was a great movie”
