Disney’s The Lion King, directed by Jon Favreau (The Jungle Book), journeys to the African savannah where a future king, Simba, is born. The young prince idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny.
Staying true to the original story, Favreau utilizes pioneering filmmaking techniques to bring the iconic characters to the big screen in a new way. Disney’s The Lion King opens in theaters July 19, the 25th anniversary of the release of the original film.
