Nigerian army has confessed to sending live bullets to the Lekki Toll Gate on 20th October where the shooting of peaceful protesters occurred.
While being cross-examined by the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Olumide Fusika, the commander of the 81 division of the Nigerian Army asserted the allegation.
Talking to the Judicial panel, Taiwo disclosed that the live rounds were for the safety of the army team who were sent to reinstate order at the scene. He stated that the soldiers who opened fire used blank bullets.
