FR. Mbaka seals Adoration Ministry for one month

Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka on Tuesday morning put up a notice that the Church will be shut for a month.
The closure, according to the notice, will aid the outspoken cleric to embark on a one-month private prayer retreat on the orders of the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Bishop Calistus Onaga.

The statement reads: “Our Spiritual Director, Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka wishes to inform his beloved adorers that he has embarked on a private prayer retreat that will end on 10th June 2021.

“Consequently, no ministry activities shall be held in the ministry ground pending his return.

“He directs that members of the ministry are to observe this period of his retreat as they used to do during the usual January breaks of the ministry, by praying at their homes, being charitable and fasting according to their ability.

Adoration! Holy Spirit is our Power.”

Recall that Mbaka had been involved in a public spat with the president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) after he declared that he would no longer support the president owing to the spate of insecurity in the country, which has been a bedrock of kidnappers, bandits and terrorists.

Moments after the statement, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, alleged that Mbaka was attacking Buhari’s regime after lobbying for contracts and getting rejected.

Amidst the rubble, Mbaka was declared missing last week, with his alleged disappearance leading to a protest by his members. Although some accused the Department of State Sevice of arresting the cleric, the DSS was quick to deny the allegations.

Mbaka however surfaced about 24 hours after, noting that the protests were vital to his reappearance in public without revealing what led to his alleged disappearance.
