Really if you are not here tonight let me tell you, you miss because the greatest was live at the Industry Night Jesse Jags, he came in all his glory and energy, he was loved. Like some industry night where party goers and fans come to attend, tonight it was followers and worshipers that came around, fans that have miss Jesse and his lyrics and his vibe, his energy and sense, even the girls that came around are real fans, followers of his works and most a living his lyrics.
The venue spice route, a cultural designed building and Hindu influenced interior with a black coated iron Hindu god by the beginning of the stairs, just a one flight to the lounge, in the lounge with a VIP section at the top in the lounge, with bouncers at the beginning of the stairs that lead to the VIP section and some demarcated little VIP section below too and a long balcony with live plant, in the lounge a short walk way with metal Hindu gods arranged with different weapons as they pose at both side of the walk way.
The show started a little late and the crowd was not that much like other industry night, some that are just normal party goers already started to murmur and comparing the show that is yet to start with other industry night, after a while M.I sneaked into the venue and Yung L came out of the car in his white Tshirt that had print of his yet to be released album, soon he was bombarded by camera crews of different media house and paparazzi’s as the attention of everybody was on Yung L, Jesse try to sneak through the crowd but his eye caught Yung L and he couldn’t run away, exchange greetings and pictures and interviews talking about his soon to be released album, which he said will be released in July which really we are counting down already to that release date and we can’t wait, he has starved fans enough, finally he entered the venue.
In the lounge like it’s the tradition of the show different up and coming artiste open the show and Spanky the hype man brought the energy into the room, even Ehis “Dadaboy” was in the show, Morell, after some of the young art had perform, it was time for Jago to come on stage and once again Spanky brought the energy needed and the house was filled with it and the band that was playing for Jesse took over and everywhere was lit.
As he said on the red carpet he’ll be performing five songs from his old albums and five from the new album that is yet to drop, as he came on stage the energy filled the room as the band chant him to live with the sound coming from the instrument they play, a brown wooden chair with a shining golden material as the cushion chair was on the stage, he knelt in it as he listen to the sounds and you can feel the spirit raise in him, the energy you can see as he nod his head to every sound, our attention he was stealing gradually and we love it even if we didn’t notice it at first because we were all carried away by his reaction to the sound the band was playing, he was like a rock star in the room in his Gothic street trend long black hood and a black jean and a black cobra skin all-star shoe and a black Lacoste eye glass, he was a black god with great lyrics that bring your soul to life as it makes it travel through time of words that interpret existence and purpose and creativity, he is the deep lyricist that transform your energy to possess you.
This show proved Jesse doesn’t have fans, he’s got followers, people that love and respect and worship his craft, he’s like no other, even on the stage as he break from performance to do a poetic rap like he often did during his performance, the reaction of the crowd made him wonder as he said shebi dem say naija no like rap he was loved from both sex that filled the room, maybe more loved by the females as one couldn’t help it as she sang and rap along all of the song he performed even from the new album that is yet to drop, the show was awesome as this is even the first show that is been hosted by Industry since the beginning of Ramadan, he was the perfect person to kick start the new session with.
Fans really don’t want him to stop, every song he sang we love and at a point he said we should just listen to a particular track from the new album, we loved it, his “Sex and Scotch” performance made the crowd scream, “Burning Bush” he came down in all his glory because he’s the greatest, giving respect to his elder brother as he told a short story about respecting your elder ones relating it to how he fought M.I back in 1993 which resulted the his broken tooth and a little reflection on the trending issue of the notorious millionaire kidnapper Evans.
His performance came to an end as he thank his fans for believing and loving him, his elder brother and family and his label, we all wish the show won’t end.
