Nigerian musicians who were earlier picked up by the men of the Economic and Finacial Crime Commission (EFCC), Naira Marley, Zlatan remain in their custody even though it’s the weekend EFCC.
The Anti-graft commission allegedly stated the duo are helping them with information in the investigations of alleged crimes levied against the singers.
It was earlier reported that Up-and-coming artistes, Afeez Fashola (aka Naira Marley) and Temidayo Omoniyi (aka Zlatan), were arrested on Friday morning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in connection with alleged cases of internet fraud and money laundering.
Series of videos posted by the suspected fraudsters on their social media handles after the news of their alleged release made many of their fans to believe that they have been released by the anti-graft commission.
However, The EFCC’s acting Head, Media and Publicity, Tony Orilade, in an interview with PUNCHng, confirmed that the artists had not been released.
“They are still with us as we are talking.”
Asked if the singers would spend the weekend in custody, he said:
“They are still with us. When they are released, I will let you know.”
