Nigerian singer and songwriter, Aituaje Aina Vivian Ebele Iruobe, popularly called Waje, is a year older today, September 1, 2016.
The mother of one, who is also known as the messenger of love hit the limelight when her vocals were featured on Psquare’s hit ‘Do Me’ in 2008. She has won several awards for her signature voice.
Described as having a vocal range covering three octaves, Waje can hit high notes, stretching them as long as you could hold your breath for.
A native of Edo state, born in Akure, Ondo State, she is currently one of the leading female songwriter and singer in the country.
The University of Nigeria graduate has since waxed stronger and has won several awards over the past couple of years including Best Female Vocalist NEA 2011, Headies 2011, Best Reggae/ Dance hall, Headies 2013 amongst others.
Asides all this, Waje is passionate about gender equality and opportunity, seeking which to empower African women. in this light, She joined the One.org to launch a worldwide campaign for gender equality. Even lending her voice to their theme song.
