Why We Absconded With Nigerian Army’s ₦600m – Wanted Soldiers

The 5 Nigerian wanted soldiers that made away with ₦600m they were told to escort by the GOC 8 Division said they absconded with the money because they are looted funds.

The money belonged to Major General ,” Hakeem Otiki, the general officer commanding, 8 Division of the Army, based in Sokoto who is supposed to be supervising an internal operation in Sokoto.

A source close to two of the soldiers told ElombahNews the money was with the brother of the GOC and meant for operations but the GOC decided to corner it for himself.

“The soldiers have long been monitoring the activities of their superiors based on the functions they had delegated to them in the past”, the source stated.

“But after spending a long time handling transactions for them (senior officers) by escorting money to safe locations across the country while they (soldiers) remained in penury, they decided to take their destiny into their own hands with the latest opportunity.
