Suspected and detained internet fraudster, Ismaila Mustapha popularly known as Mompha, has returned to social media to celebrate his release from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Mompha, popular for his flashy lifestyle and display of wealth on Instagram before his arrest, deleted all his IG posts shortly after he was arrested.

EFCC arrested Mompha on 19 October at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja for alleged fraud.

Following his arrest, he was arraigned by the EFCC for alleged N33 billion fraud.

He had pleaded not guilty to the 14 counts bordering on fraud, money laundering and running a foreign exchange business without the authorization of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

He was, however, granted an N100 million bail on Friday 29th November by a Federal High Court in Lagos.

After meeting his bail conditions, Mompha was released on Monday.

On his exit from the EFCC custody, he took to his verified IG page to celebrate his release.

Wearing a vest with the inscription #Freedom, Mompha went live on IG while in the car with four other men believed to be his associates.

Dancing to Naira Marley’s song blasting from the car radio, an excited Mompha asked:

“Am I a Yahoo Boy?”

“Noo,” he responded.
